Welcome to PASS Shepherding Homes

Some expectant mothers are in need of shelter, safety, and care.  For any of a number of reasons they may be homeless and need help.  Choosing life brings new decisions, especially with an unplanned pregnancy.  Those decisions are more challenging without a home or family support.

PASS is currently developing our “Shepherding Homes” program where PASS prepares families to receive a homeless expectant mother into their home for the duration of her pregnancy.  The “Shepherding Home” family provides for the physical needs and transportation for medical care during the duration of her pregnancy.  The Shepherding Home family also may provide care, training, and examples of family care.

Residing with a new family can be a challenge for the Shepherding Home family and the expectant mother.  This is where PASS comes in.

PASS is the intermediary for the “Shepherding Home” family and the expectant mother preparing the “Shepherding Home” family on what to expect, how to minister, explaining minimum requirements, and answer questions that “Shepherding Home” families may have.

PASS also prepares the expectant mom how to receive care from the Shepherding Home family as well as minimum requirements and limitations for the duration of the “Shepherding Home” service.

At this time PASS is developing these programs for families to take in an expecting homeless woman into their home for care and we expect these programs to be available by July 2010.
