HISTORY AND STATISTICS

In 1991, the PASS Hope and Healing program was designed for anyone experiencing the aftermath of abortion, or those who have experienced abuse, rape, incest; or other significant loss, such as job loss, divorce, separation, mourning, or grief.  The program progressed beyond post-abortive healing to include women and men unable to move beyond past experiences that continue to effect decision making.

Some Statistics

1 out of every 6 woman in the evangelical church is post-abortive.

For each woman - a man and an entire family silently suffer as well.

About 1/3 of clients seeking pregnancy services will be women who have had one or more abortions.

For many, the pain of loss of the baby is compounded by other severe losses such as loss of her innocence, loss of her relationship with her husband or boyfriend, loss of a dream, and loss of other significant relationships. In dealing with complex and deeply emotional losses many turn to drugs and or alcohol, experience depression, anxiety, anorexia, or bulimia.

PASS' Hope and Healing Program:

Affirms, cares and helps to restore the hearts, minds and emotions

Serves as a Biblically based support group for those suffering from hurt, loss and shame.

Is for men and women.

Is offered in safe, confidential group settings hosted by compassionate trained facilitators.

To become a Hope and Healing Facilitator, these requirements must be met:

First participate in all 12 weeks of Hope and Healing through PASS
Attend and complete the Facilitator Training once every three years

Co- Lead a Hope and Healing under another Facilitator before becoming a Lead Facilitator
Leader candidates are reviewed and placed based on giftedness and leadership skills
